You’ve heard the saying “Time flies when you’re having fun”. How about this saying, “Time Flies Period!” We know that we can’t stop the clock. I hear so many people talk about what they’re going to do in the future, to only discover, that they were only talking. Unless you take action, you will accomplish nothing.

I think that this statement is so important for seniors today. Unless we prepare for our future, we will be subjected to whatever lies ahead.

I am 57 years old and my husband is 77. We have been married for over 25 years. Although my husband is 20 years my senior, I had the unique opportunity to observe the way he has embraced his senior years. Now that we are both seniors, who enjoy life to its fullest, I do not consider us lucky. I know that we are both actively doing the things that are beneficial to our overall well being.

I don't consider us unique. I believe that we have all had to make choices. We can choose to be pro-active and participate in what we want and need to have a healthy productive life or we can choose to do nothing at all and let others make our decisions for us. Some seniors live in FEAR. We all have concerns, but when these concerns are not addressed and become magnified..then fear creeps in and can rob a person of their liberty and happiness.
